Managed by Louis van Gaal, the Dutch got off to a great start, beating France in the final group game and then crushing Yugoslavia 6-1 with a Patrick Kluivert hat-trick in the Quarter Finals. They were finally knocked out by Italy in the Semis, after dominating the match and missing two penalties.
